The Chocolate Factory

"This is a fascinating and to some extent experimental scheme and the panel was unanimous in supporting it.

Welcome to The Chocolate Factory

Bristol based property regeneration company, Squarepeg bought the Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory site at Greenbank in January of this year. The company has publicly declared its intention to undertake a comprehensive consultation with the local community, before submitting a planning application to Bristol City Council.

Over the past seven months we have consulted widely regarding the future of the site and in September the final application will be submitted to the Council. Many of the ideas for the final plans have come from contributions made by local residents.

George Ferguson, Chairman of Acanthus Ferguson Mann Architects, and his team, including David Caird and Alistair Carswell have been working with Squarepeg to develop the scheme proposals and realise the vision which is shared by everyone involved with the site.

As many of you know, George has been actively involved on this project with members of the local community for many years and his vision and drive has been instrumental in getting us to where we are today. This website has been a well used portal for people to share their thoughts and ideas with us. Every email and contribution is read and questions given due consideration by the various professionals on the team.

Let us know what you think of our plans.

We need your support - if you don't want the Chocolate Factory to fall into ruin, but want to see sustainable, viable solution providing homes and jobs for the community, show us your support for the planned regeneration of the Chocolate Factory – click here!
