Transport assessment


The forthcoming planning application will be accompanied by a comprehensive transport assessment that will consider :-

  • Shared surface design within the scheme.
  • Traffic levels associated with both the historic use and the proposed regeneration scheme.
  • Which accesses pedestrians and vehicles will use and the impact arising on the local highway network. Both Greenbank Road and Co-operation Road will be used for vehicular access; service vehicle access will be from Greenbank Road.
  • Traffic claming measures to protect and enhance local residential streets.
  • Car and cycle parking provision
  • A travel plan, which will include measures to discourage car use. The proposals and travel plan are expected to include:
    • improvements to local pedestrian, cycle and bus infrastructure;
    • a proportion of shared parking between residential and employment uses;
    • a proportion of smaller parking bays to discourage large car use;
    • discounted annual bus pass on first occupation;
    • Car Club membership and provision of two Car Club spaces within the site, with access available to the community;
    • discounted cycle purchase;
    • cycle houses front the cycle path;
    • cafe/cycle shop with cycle facilities such as showers and bike hire;
    • secure cycle parking and showers for employment use;
