Section 106 contributions

1. Recreation / open space
Relates to new and improved recreation and public open spaces facilities either funded by single monetary contribution which City Council spend on targeted projects (such as Owen’s Square landscape improvements) or specifi c projects identified within 0.5 miles of site. Suggestions already made include improved facilities at the Pickle Factory and Owen’s Square, but we would like more examples of local projects from you. On the Form, please provide us with details to enable us to discuss this further with the City Council.

2. Education
The City Council has identifi ed a need for contributions towards local Nursery schools in the area (The Limes Nursery and Bannerman Road) and Primary schools (May Park, Whitehall and Bannerman Road).

3. Transport
Financial contributions towards traffi c calming along Co-operation Road and surrounding streets; pedestrian improvements (e.g. dropped kerbs; tactile paving) between site and public transport routes; improved lighting to cycle path; contributions to public transport improvements; car club spaces.

4. Public art
Integrated into scheme (such as within the public square). Need to consider ideas of specifi c locations and potential design with local artists.

5. Managed workspace and affordable housing
Provision of dedicated areas of ‘affordable’ employment workspace within the existing building. Also provided will be a mix of different size and type of affordable flats and houses within the converted factory buildings and new built element.
